My screen is black and it says “waiting for update”

If your screen is black and says “waiting for update”, it usually means you haven’t successfully connected your broker account to the MT4 terminal. You’ll know your broker account isn’t connected if it says “invalid account” in the bottom right-hand corner of the MT4 terminal.

To connect your broker account go to “file”->”login to Trade Account” and enter the information for your broker account.

Be sure to type in the correct broker account number and password, and that you have your broker name and whether it is a demo or live account selected correctly.
