How To Access Your VPS Using RDP (Mac)

How to access your VPS using RDP on Apple Mac
 
1. Install Microsoft Remote Desktop application from the App Store.
 

2. Locate Microsoft Remote Desktop in Finder to run it.

Go To File > New Finder Window > Favorites > Applications > Microsoft Remote Desktop

3. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop application and click Add PC.

4. COPY & PASTE Computer/PC Name (IP) exactly as given in the e-mail (without spacing)

5. Click on the "User account" drop down menu and select "Add User Account..."


6. Enter username as Administrator
7. COPY & Paste password exactly as given in the email (without spacing)
8. Then c
lick "Add" (diagram below)


9. Then click the other "Add" (see diagram below)

10. Double-click on the new connection entry to connect to your VPS.

11. You'll get a certificate warning. Click ‘Show Certificate’

12. Select the checkbox for 'Always trust…' to not get warned about the self-signed certificate in the future.

13. Enter your local computer account password to complete adding the self-signed certificate to your local keychain.
