How do I fund my broker account?

Funding a broker account can sometimes be a challenging process. The purpose of this article is to make that process as seamless as possible for you!

Most brokers have a variety different funding options. Please note that almost always, you will be required to withdraw your funds using the same method you used when you originally deposited your funds. (For example if you deposited with bitcoin, you can only withdraw using bitcoin). This is to prevent money laundering.

You’ll notice that below, we've only demonstrated how to deposit funds using bitcoin. The reason for this is that we've learned through much experience that bitcoin is usually the fastest and cheapest method for depositing and withdrawing funds to and from your broker. (However you are welcome to choose any other deposit/withdrawal method that you prefer!)

You may not be familiar with bitcoin and that’s OK! It’s important to understand that you are NOT investing in bitcoin, you are simply using bitcoin as a vehicle to transfer funds from point A to point B, to and from your broker quickly and inexpensively. As soon as you purchase your bitcoin you will send it to your broker and it will be converted to USD immediately for trading. When you want to withdraw funds from your broker, you can withdraw via bitcoin money transfer and convert it back to USD as soon as it lands in your bitcoin wallet.

Please note that despite the convenience, speed, and low cost of bitcoin money transfers, there could be slight fluctuations in the value of bitcoin throughout the process and you’ll have to be OK with that.

So that being said, you may decide to choose from one of the bitcoin purchasing options below :

OPTION #1 : Coinbase (for non-US residents)

OPTION #2 : Coinbase PRO (cheapest & fastest option for US residents)
