In 2021, different altcoins have performed better than Bitcoin and Ethereum. This is not surprising. In the crypto world, Bitcoin and Ethereum boasts having the largest market caps; therefore, naturally, it will take huge investment to move the price.
However, it will be much easier for lower market caps to take place and these articles usually don’t talk about the number of low cap altcoins, which have performed far worse compared to their blue-chip cousins, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
However, in 2021, Binance Coin (BNB) is a well-established altcoin, which has performed better than Bitcoin or Ethereum. This year, Binance Coin, which is the native coin of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange soared a full 1,300%, dwarfing the 65% and 408% of Bitcoin and Ethereum respectively.
This can be attributed to two things. First, is the rise in mainstream adoption of Binance exchange, as well as the moves of the BSC this year to compete seriously with Ethereum.
Results of this nature are impressive, without a doubt, given the issues that Binance Holdings has experienced this year. Binance has been heavily criticized, with UK bank, Barclays, and even banning payments to the platform in this year’s summer.
Binance’s future doesn’t look so gloomy – having been sent out of Singapore, Binance seems to have gotten operational regulatory in Bahrain. Maybe, they’ll decide to establish a Middle Eastern headquarters in the country.
