Following Samsung’s recent collaboration with Veritree, a blockchain-based climate solutions platform, the electronics manufacturer will get exposure to Cardano.

Samsung Electronics America partnered with Veritree to cultivate more than 2 million trees in Madagascar during a show that was held in Las Vegas. The two parties plan to plant these trees in the next three months.

According to the American subsidiary of the South Korean multinational conglomerate, mangrove trees can absorb more carbon dioxide. The tree-planting initiative is part of the efforts of Samsung towards maintaining environmental sustainability.

Veritree will be useful in offering more transparency to the cultivation process. The blockchain-based climate solution platform enables planters to track trees on their phones. Also, planters can help to link up individual donations to the areas they restored.

Mark Newton, the head of corporate sustainability of Samsung, maintained that an investment in “nature-based solutions” is crucial in fighting climate change.

Last year, Veritree and the Cardano Foundation revealed the first Initial Tree Offering (ITO). Users of this platform can donate 1 ADA token to receive 1 Tree Token. The ITO has enough funds to cultivate more than 553,000 trees.

People who can donate a minimum of 500 ADA will receive an NFTree Art and digital planting certificates. Those that can donate 100,000 ADA coins will receive special NFTree Art, and their names will be included in a map.
